Other records broken were, most number of encounters won against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (14). This was followed by Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals (12 each).

The only other Indian Premier League (IPL) team to have the most number of wins registered in the Twenty20 format is the Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR have 90 wins in 172 encounters.

CSK currently lead the points table with 12 points and are tied with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Kings XI Punjab and KKR are also in the running to qualify for the playoffs. However, Kolkata will have to fend off the likes of the Rajasthan Royals for a playoff spot.

Chennai’s next match is against the aforementioned Kolkata on Thursday. Chennai are looking to extend their lead while KKR are hoping to create a buffer between them and Rajasthan. Despite losing to Mumbai, Chennai vowed to come back even stronger and did so in style against RCB.
