“Dana White Help a Fighter Out”- UFC Fans Issue a Plea After Douglas Silva De Andrade’s Heart-Rending Revelation

Douglas Silva de Andrade put on one of the most entertaining fights at UFC 271. The fact that he won the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for his bout against Sergey Morozov is a testament to the same. After tonight’s bonus, he asked for a $100k bonus after tonight’s win.

The fighter bagged a second-round submission win against Sergey Mozorov.

After the fight, Douglas Silva de Andrade told MMA Junkie about how the bonus money will help him. The fighter said that the extra money would help out a lot to get his mother a new wheelchair and to give his child and his parents a comfortable life.

The Brazilian said, “I got both bonuses. I’m gonna give the best life for my mommy. She needed a new wheelchair. And I want get off the rental and buy my house. I just got a baby, that’s why I’m here to get the both bonuses to give a better life for my parents and for my kid.” (via translation: MMA Junkie)

The fighter broke down when he was asked about the role his mother played in his life. This shows the love and appreciation he has for her and shows us why he wants more finances to support her.

Twitter reacts to Douglas Silva de Andrade and his hardships.

After seeing the hardships that the fighter faces, fight fans took to Twitter to speak up for the fighter. Many fans slammed the UFC for paying the fighter lesser than they deserve to be paid.

A fight fan tried to reach out to Dana White. He wrote,” @danawhite help a fighter out. I know you’re not a charity but maybe a anonymous donation if you don’t think he deserves the fight bonus.”

Manel Kape said that the translator was incorrect in his translation and what the fighter meant was that he wants to buy a new house for his mom. Many other fans slammed the translator as well and claimed he did a poor job in translating the interview.

BJJ practitioner Stipe Simp demanded that the UFC give him the money so that he can get his mom a wheelchair.
