The best fight card from UFC this year, UFC 241 will showcase one huge rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic for the prestigious heavyweight championship.

Daniel Cormier beat Stipe Miocic last year to be the heavyweight champion. He was supposed to fight Brock Lesnar after that fight until Lesnar announced his retirement from MMA. And then UFC booked the rematch between Stipe and DC. Contrary to the first match, this time these two fighters have some heat between them. Daniel Cormier has expressed his frustration since Stipe didn’t fight anyone since he lost his title and waited it out till he got for the rematch.

Daniel Cormier has also said that the loss in the rematch will break Stipe down. DC has also said that he is a superior fighter than Stipe. In an interview on the open workout day for UFC 241, Cormier said that Stipe is frustrated now and he will be making it worse for him if he tries to go for a knockout.

DC also mentioned that he would have fought Stipe if it was not for Brock Lesnar’s deal. And he didn’t fight Stipe at the MSG last year on short notice cause he realizes and respects Stipe’s skillsets.

DC thinks Stipe is considering DC’s win a fluke. Recalling the first fight, DC also said that Stipe’s power won’t be enough to knock him out.

Other than that, DC also replied to Jon Jones’s recent comments. Jon Jones recently tweeted that he guarantees that Cormier won’t cut the weight and move down to light heavyweight for a third fight. To that Dc said,

” I can’t think for an idiot. If I want to fight him(Jones) again I’ll go to 205.”

He also mentioned that times have changed. As the heavyweight champion of the world, he is secured financially and he has cemented his legacy. And he doesn’t need to fight Jones for those incentives.

DC also said that the door is closed for the match with Brock Lesnar after Lesnar announced his retirement.

DC has mentioned in his earlier interviews that he will either be fighting Jon Jones or retire after the fight with Stipe. But things would depend a lot on how his fight with Stipe plays out. If DC wins then a heavyweight battle with jones will become inevitable. If Stipe wins then Stipe might fight with Jones in the future.
