Earlier today, Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo took the covers off to reveal a new helmet design. An Australian artist based in Los Angeles, by the name of Ornamental Conifer, was the mastermind behind the design.

The helmet is adorned with a pink, blue, green and black design, in a certain pattern. In addition to that, it also features the words, ‘Stop Being Them’, emblazoned on the helmet. According to the 29-year old, it was meant to signify Ricciardo taking a different path in life.

After the big reveal, he spoke about the unusual design, he said, “It is certainly going to be different. It is not going to be traditional and typical with a halo and lines that mean nothing.”

“I am trying to get away from the typical helmet these days, so it should be funky. It is kind of artistic in a modern way.”

With that out of the way, the Aussie will be hoping for a decent performance in front of the the home crowd.

However, he will have stiff competition from Mercedes, Ferrari and his former team Red Bull. But the ‘Honey Badger’ will surely be up for the challenge in a new environment.
