Daniil Medvedev Reflects on Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic’s Records of Reaching 17 Straight Finals

By 11 months ago

The machine man of ATP, Daniil Medvedev made it to his sixth straight final on the ATP Tour on Sunday, but the man who has won 59 matches this year is skeptical about surpassing the records of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic who made it to 17 consecutive finals on the ATP circuit.

“I do think it’s impossible, but, well, there are two guys who have done it, which I actually didn’t know it, which is just unbelievable. I don’t have any words to describe this. I mean, for myself making six in a row including three Masters and one Grand Slam is something I could never dream of, to be honest. But I want to keep the momentum going and hope I can make it to seven or eight. Let’s see about 17 later,” Daniil Medvedev.

The Russian tennis phenom can possibly attain Federer and Djokovic’s niche. He has been consistent on the ATP Tour this year and now, he has claimed 18 straight sets in a row.

Over the past nine years, besides, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, none of the active ATP men aged under 28 could make it to the finals of a Grand Slam (barring Dominic Thiem and Milos Raonic), but Medvedev changed that stat last month in New York.
