David Beckham recently celebrated his 40th birthday, with millions wishing the mid-fielder a happy birthday.
But the success and the fame achieved by Beckham has stories of handwork and true grit.
It was a Round of 16 fixture between England and Argentina at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint-Étienne, on Tuesday June 30, 1998.
Beckham was fouled by none other than Diego Simeone, and the reaction of a young David Beckham earned him a red card, which led to England’s exit at the World Cup.
