Dave Portnoy pulls on his battle gear for precious few causes. At present, they are limited to the New England Patriots, Taylor Swift, and his alma mater, the University of Michigan. He has been vocally in their corner all through the ongoing NCAA investigation. Portnoy’s team is gearing up to face one of their biggest challenges in the post-season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be their next opponent in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl. That game is set to be contested on New Year’s afternoon. Dave Portnoy predicted the Wolverines would emerge victorious and made his feelings known via his social media handles.

Dave Portnoy shared a video on X. He captioned the same, “FSU got screwed. Feed me Bama!” In the video, Portnoy voiced his thoughts regarding the Wolverines’ next opponent, the Alabama Crimson Tide. He emphasized he had no ill will toward that program. Portnoy said, I like the Crimson Tide. I like the fans, the hospitality, Roll Tide Willie, all of it. I’m friends with [Nick] Saban’s daughter, Kristen. I like all of it.” He noted the Wolverines would pulverize them, regardless.

Dave Portnoy believes that Michigan has the edge over Alabama in multiple facets of the sport. As he put it, It’s a great game, Michigan-Alabama, great game. Great color game, historic programs. But we’re better, we’re more physical, your quarterback can’t throw and we’re gonna pound you like sand.” If not for a twist of fate, Michigan would have faced the Florida State University Seminoles instead.

The Bulldogs were the top-ranked team in the country, until their loss to Alabama. With the Wolverines now the top-ranked college football team, will the Crimson Tide claim another No. 1 scalp?
