Deion Sanders has the gift of the gab. When Coach Prime starts talking about anything, his unique storytelling style, and versatility is at full display. One is drawn in automatically. In one such instance, Sanders opened up about his unique way of approaching fatherhood.

Now, Coach Prime comes out to be a really doting father from his conversations. He talks about the importance of patience in parenting. Sanders was visiting Chad Johnson and Marshall Brandon on their show, I am Athlete.

The hosts ask Coach Prime, “Do you push your kids during their childhood to be football players or you’ll let them gravitate to what it is they want. The 90’s Atlanta star very eloquently articulates his stance, “Well, a little bit of both. I got to give you direction. Like we don’t get on the highway and there ain’t no signs now. I got to give you some signs, some red lights, some green lights, and slowdowns. I got to give you that but in the same token, I can’t expect me out of you.”

Coach Prime got his priorities set

Powerful words that most of us can apply in our lives. Deion comes out as a responsible, doting father who really gives his parenting deep thought. Yet, the same Deion Sanders has some of the most quirky opinions on other matters.

Deion says that he believes in picking favorites amongst his children. He even goes on to say that he has a list, power ranking, the whole thing. And it keeps changing as well. There is ambiguity on how truthful he was being and how much of it was a jest. But his stance is quite the uncommon one when it comes to this issue.

The NFL 100 Team member says, “You’ve got to pick favorites.” Talking about his children.  “I’ve got rankings, I got the seed. They come out, they come out all the time.” 

So Prime confesses that he has a list and it changes as per the actions and decisions that his children take. In the most ‘Deion’ manner possible, the coach has made a “video will’ that is updated every once in a while to reflect the new updates to his children’s ranking. Again, if Prime Time is stretching the truth for effect, we don’t know. But if anybody can do it, it is Deion Sanders.
