Angelo Mathews who will be leading Sri Lanka in the ICC Champions Trophy has been directed by the Sri Lankan cricket board to join the national side for a preparatory camp for the mega event.

Earlier, Daredevils opener Sam Billings had left the franchise to join the England team for the ongoing ODI series against Ireland.

Morris will be missed the most as he has been a vital cog in the Delhi setup, chipping wickets at crucial points and churning out some decent cameos with the bat. The South African is also the leading wicket taker for the Zaheer Khan-led side.

Delhi Daredevils lost their previous encounter against the Mumbai Indians by a huge margin and now face a do or die situation as they have to win all of their remaining three matches to stand any chance to qualify for the playoffs. Delhi’s next encounter is against Gujarat Lions in Kanpur on May 10 followed by encounters against Rising Pune Supergiant and Royal Challengers Bangalore at home.

Though the absence of the above mentioned four overseas players is a big blow for the Delhi side, they still have big names like, Corey Anderson, Marlon Samuels, Pat Cummins and Carlos Braithwaite who would occupy the quota of foreign players in the playing eleven for remaining fixtures.
