American point guard DJ Cooper was handed a two year suspension for a rather bizarre attempt, where he had given a urine sample of some other person for a doping test.
What makes it even more bizarre is that, the test results showed that he was pregnant. While the reason for his actions is unknown, it is believed that the urine sample belonged to his then girlfriend.
In 2018, Cooper stopped playing for AS Monaco, stating “family reasons” for his absence from Basketball. He was expected to join the Bosnian national team when reports revealing him as “pregnant” came out. The presence of ?gHC?, a hormone the placenta produces after impregnation, was detected in the urine sample.

The urine sample, according to reports are believed to be his girlfriend’s, who, at that time was unaware of her pregnancy.

Cooper was a successful college basketball player, but failed to make it to the NBA with the same amount of success.
After a successful four years of college basketball at Ohio University, Cooper entered the 2013 NBA draft but was not selected in the draft’s two rounds. Then Cooper signed his first professional contract with PAOK from Greek basketball league. For the next four years, he spent his career in the basketball leagues of Russia and Greece, before he signed with ?lan B?arnais Pau-Orthez of France in 2016, and was named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the season.
He played for AS Monaco in the 2017-18 season, where he averaged 6.9 points and 7.2 assists per game. Cooper then announced he was leaving Monaco on September 7, 2018, after which he was expected to play for the Bosnian national team when things backfired.
A men’s basketball player suspended from playing for being “pregnant” still remains one of the most amusing stories.
