The video game industry has seen some bizarre games and concepts come to life. Although it is not always the matter with hit games, some indie projects have made it especially possible for gamers to play wildly amusing games, some even including real-life celebrities like Michael Jordan, Bill Cosby, LeBron James, and Charles Barkley.

And thus there is a game doing exactly that, and not just it, the game is even weirder in its storytelling and ambitious in its character choice. But despite all this weirdness, the game is one of the most absurd titles to receive a lot of love from fans and critics.

Weird and hilarious 2008 game that allows you to play as Charles Barkley and defeat Michael Jordan with his “dunk”

Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden is a 2008 indie title developed by Tales of Game’s Studios. And you guessed it right, the game is as weird as its name. In the game, Sir Charles Barkley was accused of killing most of the people attending a 2041 “post-cyberpocalyptic Neo New York” basketball game with his ‘Chaos Dunk’.

Later in 2053, another Chaos Dunk is performed in Manhattan, killing millions, which gets Sir Charles in trouble with the B-Ball Removal Department. Thus, as the story progresses, there are a lot of layers of the story to find. From a great-grandson of LeBron James, who is a huge part of the game, to LeBron James himself being a ghost who guides Sir Charles towards the leader of the B-Ball Removal Department, Michael Jordan; Charles Barkley comes across many other great athletes helping and sometimes fighting him as well.

Additionally, the game also has some weird Boss battles, one of which includes the late controversial stand-up comedian Bill Cosby as well. Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden also features Space Jam as a Canon story for the game and is basically built on the idea that Michael Jordan is actually a Looney Tunes character.

Notably, the game has a very passionate fan base, as most of the developers were basically from a forum rather than a development team. Thus, they have a real sense of pride for making such a masterpiece of a game.
