Activision made a grave mistake with the latest update that saw the addition of R1 Shadowhunter in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The studio had laid down plans to introduce it at a later date, but the weapon unintentionally appeared in the store of Battle Royale title Warzone and in Black Ops Cold War.

However, the latest patch of the game never included this addition anywhere, and the decision to pull it from the game caught the community by surprise.

The studio shared the news with a tweet and also laid down a timeline for its introduction in both games.

Twitter reacts to developers update about the crossbow controversy

Treyarch executive Josh Torres offered a clarification on the matter when a fan raised a query. He responded to the fan’s comment and gave the community a rundown of the current situation regarding the crossbow.

The news of the development being reset did not sit well with the fans at all. This tweet attracted a lot of reaction from the community, which clearly depicted their frustration with the game.

The developer never shed light on the hours of grind, nor was there any acknowledgment towards the effort the fans made to unlock everything. This fan highlighted that particular issue with a tweet in the thread.

The anger is justified, as fans must have spent hours grinding for the new weapon.

A great tip for the players who would be eagerly looking forward to this weapon’s return- just hop onto Hardcore mode and complete every challenge.
