Amidst HBO’s Series Phenomenal Success The Last Of Us Franchise Breaks Unimaginable Game Records Across The Globe

The Last Of Us franchise has broken multiple records in the past few weeks, and it looks like they are not going to stop anytime soon. 

On January 15, HBO Max finally released the most anticipated series of the year, The Last Of Us. It was an adaption of the iconic game series featuring Ellie and Joel fighting their way through the monstrous world. The first episode aired last Sunday, inviting millions of fans from across the globe. And to everyone’s surprise, it broke multiple viewership records, with fans counting the days until the next weekend. 

After all, HBO played a witty role in releasing one episode per week, keeping the fans hooked for months. Plus, it worked out well for them as they saw a sharp surge after the launch of episode 2. To mention numbers, viewership grew by 22%, also affecting the game’s sales in different parts of the world.

The Last Of Us game sales surged over 300% amidst the series launch 

Avid TLOU YouTuber and Naughty Dog fanatic DomTheBomb, posted a tweet claiming high sales numbers for the game. Here’s what he said, “The Last of Us Part 1 sales have increased by 238%, while sales of The Last of Us Remastered increased by 322%. in the UK!”

Apart from that, Dom also claimed that TLOU Part 2 and TLOU Remastered became the top two best sellers on Amazon for PS4. While this may come as a surprise to the new fans, the ‘OGs’ are aware of the game’s hype. After all, HBO wouldn’t have bet on making a series if they did not understand the game’s value.

Post Episode 2 launch, TLOU HBO series breaks new viewership record

During its premiere, the series grabbed the attention of 4.7 million fans as they tuned in to watch this masterpiece. But soon, the numbers surged by 22% as HBO confirmed a 5.7 million viewership for episode 2. This was a massive achievement for the cast as well as Naughty Dog, as it attracted a larger fanbase towards the franchise. 

“This marks the largest week 2 audience growth for an HBO Original drama series in the history of the network,” the company said on Monday. As of now, they have released the teaser for episode 3, and it looks very much appealing. After all, it finally features the entry of Bill and Frank.
