InnerSloth’s Among Us boomed in popularity during the global lockdown for COVID-19. Released in 2018, this party game saw a surge in its fanbase in 2020 and even won the Best Game award. In fact, the community credits this to the many YouTubers and streamers who streamed the game, bringing it into the limelight. However, some of this credit should also pass on to those who created so many exciting mods of the game.

Among Us usually overpowers the impostors over the crewmates significantly, making it easier for the former to win games. However, these mods try to bring both parties on an equal footing. In a recent 100 player mod, which is arguably the toughest one we have seen so far, we saw YouTuber TBNRFrags play as an impostor. However, he had to hunt down the crewmates.

Prop Hunt in Among Us mod

In the prop hunt mod of Among Us, there are two impostors who have to hunt down 98 props. These props can be any random object that is usually present on the Skeld map in the game, from buckets to Medbay scanners.

The impostor must figure out which prop is actually a crewmate and kill them. The bonus for impostors is that there is no kill cooldown after a kill, so stack kills are possible. However, they must also keep in mind that they have to deal with a fifteen-second kill cooldown if they attack a prop.

Now, we know that this makes it sound like the game is too easy for the impostors, and that is exactly what YouTuber Preston thought as well. After all, hundreds of props running around on a small map like Skeld is like a goldmine for stack kills. However, the YouTuber soon realized that the game gets increasingly tougher as the number of props reduces because the remaining props could be anywhere.

Additionally, they have a time limit of 30 minutes in which they have to find and kill every fake prop. The YouTuber lost the game with 9 props remaining. This is no mean feat given the time constraint and the number of props they had to hunt.

The prop hunt game mode is not new to the gaming community, having previously seen it in games like Call of Duty Mobile, where it periodically appears as a featured mode.
