Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the second most successful game on Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth installment in Nintendo’s life simulator series. Players can design their personal island paradise using a variety of items ranging from furniture to natural scenery.

The recent first-anniversary update that Animal Crossing: New Horizons received was extremely enjoyable. It introduced a major quality of life update with the addition of the Custom Design Pro Editor + and the Custom Design Portal to Nook phones. Since then, players have used the additional 50 custom design slots to create new umbrella illusions.

Furthermore, the introduction of the Island Tour Creator has given players a platform to showcase what makes their island unique. One update that many Animal Crossing fans have called for is the ability to craft multiple items and terraform multiple areas at once. This will remove a major amount of monotony from the game and allow players more time to let their creativity run wild.

More building upgrades in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The next welcome addition to the game would be building and shop upgrades. Youtuber Crossing Channel reveals how these will probably be a reality in the coming year. According to him, “there are some upgrades for buildings in the game’s code currently.”

Potential building upgrades include the return of characters Labelle and Kicks to the Able Sisters’ shop alongside an expansion of the store. Another building upgrade players are longing for is that of Nooks Cranny. In New Leaf the shop had five stages of upgrades, originating from the ‘Nookling Junction’ and finally becoming ‘The Emporium’.

The most desirable upgrade would be that of the museum. Currently, the museum focuses only on critters and artwork whereas, in previous installments of Animal Crossing, the building featured a stargazing observatory and Brewster’s Roost Coffee house. As of now, once you have completed your museum collection, there is not much to do here.
