Apex Legends has undoubtedly become one of the top-grossing games in the past years. After all, EA reported a sharp incline in its user base, despite launching the game three years back. Apex Legends made its debut in 2019 across different platforms, such as Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Later, the game also made its way to the Switch shop as users reported downloading it in 2021. Now, iOS and Android users can also enjoy the game as EA made it available for mobile.

Throughout its time in the industry, Apex Legends developers have relentlessly worked to make the game better in all possible ways. They also heard their user’s problems and tried to find apt solutions for them. To mention about a few popular ones, the devs added a cross-platform feature for players spanned across PC, PlayStation, and Sony, allowing them to team up in the game.

Apart from this, Respawn always tried to fix character issues, cosmetics glitches, map problems, and much more. However, with time, EA totally missed out on adding a cross-platform progression for fans.

Apex Legends really need a cross-progression as fans are scared to switch platforms

For those uninitiated, cross-progression is a game feature that allows you to maintain a single account across all platforms. To add something more, it allows players to save and access their in-game scores and cosmetics whilst maintaining them on the new platform.

In 2021, a Reddit thread exploded on the internet, claiming cross progression adding to the game. Interestingly, Ryan K. Rigney, the former director of communications of Apex Legends, also made a public statement in August.

He said“Cross progression is gnarly as hell in terms of being a problem to solve. It’s not only that you have to solve the technical challenge of merging existing accounts, but there are also legal and contractual issues to navigate with purchasing on other platforms. Different regions have different laws. It’s a mess. But we’re working on it, and we’re committed to delivering it.”

Later that year, senior producer Josh Medina posted about the same topic on his Twitter account. He claimed fans will be able to access cross progression by 2022 but did not reveal an official date for it. I mean, it’s high time EA and Respawn lookout to add this feature, as it is restricting players to stick to a single platform throughout time.
