Assassin’s Creed Mirage New Gameplay Details: Parkour From Ezio Games, Responsive AI, Target Racking and Much More

Ubisoft is seen going back to its roots with the debut gameplay trailer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, A Return to the Roots. The company has planned to focus on a linear and stealth-oriented gaming experience over its usual action-based open-world narratives. With a short span of two minutes, this new trailer is brimming with many new details for its fans and players.

The first glimpse of the gameplay was released at the PlayStation Showcase on May 2023. Later, Ubisoft released a detailed video showing behind-the-scenes glimpses of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Reviving the original aspects of the game such as stealth, assassinations, and parkour, the developers present their tributes to the beginning of this franchise.

One of the features revealed in the video is the intense parkour ability offered by this new game, especially focusing on speed and smoothness. Marco Maresca, the senior game designer, said that they approached the parkour technique closer to the Ezio games maintaining comfort based on momentum and flow. This time developers are also offering classics inspired stealth abilities like hiding in plain sight that expresses the intense use of responsive AI.

Set in an old-school environment showing ninth-century Baghdad, many old gaming elements from the franchise are returning in Assassin’s Creed Mirage including corner swings, and elevators for reaching the ground quickly. Players now can investigate targets and track them for assassinations. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also returning classic kill moves like aerial assassinations and throwing knives at close distances.

Despite classic moves, the game is also offering new focus abilities for assassins to quickly mark the enemy and kill several targets. Presenting the gameplay with the ‘bluish’ desaturated filter similar to Assassin’s Creed 2007, this new game is likely to trigger the nostalgia of fans.
