Disheartening news for all the PlayStation 5 owners who were eagerly waiting for the Battlefield 2042 open beta. Dice canceled the technical playtest officially for PlayStation 5 due to some ‘critical issue’. It was called off at the last minute. Adam Freeman (Community Manager) shared this news on Friday. However, the invites for Xbox have been started to dispatch, so Xbox owners don’t have to worry about this issue at all.
While PC owners are already enjoying the Tech test, now it looks like Xbox is the only console that will be able to experience this tech test. For PC, the test has been running since Thursday, and now Xbox invites are also going out currently. Well, this news is unfortunate, but it is also creating some doubts about the open beta as well. PlayStation 5 fans might not get an open beta for the game. However, this is not official yet.
