Making a game based on a film is like walking a fine line. The main issue with the idea of making a game based on a film is the linearity of the script, which is most often based on a theatrical viewing rather than a console with a controller. The same is the case with a Thor game featuring Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and British Actor Tom Hiddleston.

It was also to be noted that this PS3-era game was one of the few Marvel projects that featured real actors from the movie starring in a game. However, now it seems that only a few people know about this Thor game.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston once reprised their popular roles in a Sega-published Thor Game

The PS3 era of video games had a weird and quirky look to them. Although there were some graphically amazing games at that time, the gameplay was the real enemy of a developer. And at that time, Marvel Studios was releasing hit after hit, making a name for themselves.

And after the release of Thor in 2011, Marvel decided to make the most of their IP, and here enters Thor: God of Thunder. A game developed by Liquid Entertainment, makers of games like The Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring and Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard, and published by Sega, the game was sort of a disaster.

Despite original actors Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston playing the role of Thor and Loki respectively in the game, Thor: God of Thunder was not received very well by fans.

The reason behind it is that Thor: God of Thunder promised to be a hack-and-slash game like God of War, but failed to deliver the smoothness and intensity that the game could have given to fans.
