The countdown to the release of Quantum Error has begun, but the game has already started making profits!

Ever since the intriguing project of Quantum Error was announced in 2020, fans have been looking forward to experiencing a new take on the horror genre. The cosmic sci-fi horror game is finally releasing on November 3 for PlayStation 5 and later for Xbox and PC. But just a few days before the launch, it started giving good financial returns to the developers. Wondering how that’s happening?

The expectations from TeamKill Media’s adventure shooter have only increased with every glimpse the developers have shared with the public. The gameplay and visuals seem promising, but the touch of horror in a cosmic exploration does add to the excitement built around it. Moreover, this has been a special year for space exploration gaming!

The hype built around the title has helped the developers cover their budget with just the pre-order sales. Taking through their official X account, they wrote, “We want to give everyone who has pre-ordered Quantum Error the biggest thank you and hug ever! As of last night, we have made back our budget we put into the game over it’s development time on digital pre-orders alone! All of you are the best and we can’t wait for you to play QE!”

The developers also confirmed that considering the reception Quantum Errors has received, a sequel is already in plans. Also, the developers are over the funding-seeking phase as they revealed their banner to be self-funded now. “We are completely self funded so the more we make on QE the more we can put into the next game and propel ourselves forward”, they stated addressing a fan query on funding.

While the early signs for the cosmic horror look promising, it will be interesting to see how the community reacts to the game post-release.

Earlier announced as a PlayStation Exclusive, the game was later announced for Xbox and PC players as well. However, the devs had emphasized that the PS5’s SSD speed would allow the game to run better on the Sony console. A project that didn’t start off aiming for ‘perfect visuals’ did push its limits to reach an alleged standout experience. According to their official claim, Quantum Error is set to run at 4K (originally planned 2k) on PS5 with a 60 fps rate. The title uses Unreal Engine 5 to achieve the graphical experience.

Also, as a story, QE feels like a fresh breath of air in the shooting genre. The premise involves a firefighter, Captain Jacob Thomas, discovering some dark secrets of a corporate organization. It all starts when you encounter a fire in a lab. The story becomes more about the world and corporate’s hidden influence as the mystery unfolds further. This engaging plot makes it more than just an action-packed rampage.
