Call of Duty franchise gearing up for a new installment later this year. All things considered, it seems like Activision is no leaving no stone unturned in making it the best game in the long-running series. There are multiple reasons why MWIII is looking exciting. Especially, when it comes to offering a diversified experience, like the introduction of Zombies!

Yes, the undead are coming to the Modern Warfare universe for the first time. And to escalate the hype for this upcoming Zombies mode, the makers have recently revealed a very first teaser trailer. Coming as no surprise, it features the origin of Zombies in MW’s timeline. However, what makes it more than just a Zombies reveal clip is the appearance of a familiar face from Task Force 141. It’s none other than Soap himself – going on a huge mission against the undead!

Well that seems to be the case going by the latest trailer. In case anyone missed watching it, the video shows an Incursion that takes place after a returning villain Viktor Zakhaev throws a vial containing Aetherium. The latter is the substance that can turn the living and the dead into Zombies, almost instantly.

Following the incident, the trailer shows John “Soap” MacTavish, alongside SSO Kate Laswell, briefing an unknown Operator. They have got intel about Zakhaev planning something evil but don’t exactly know about it. It looks like they are preparing to find it out themselves, while eventually coming in contact with Zombies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Their mission is called ‘Operation Deadbolt‘.

Now what’s interesting to note is that this trailer seems to show Soap being occupied with Operation Deadbolt before he met Task Force 141 in last year’s Modern Warfare II. And probably that’s the reason why he was absent from 2019’s rebooted MW title. However, it’s just a speculation as nothing official has been confirmed just yet. But if it’s actually the case, it will be intriguing to see how things play out going forward.
