Yet again, the rumors of Red Dead Redemption possibly making its way to the modern generation of consoles have started dropping in. Fans are once again hyped like anything, and they cannot wait for Rockstar Games to actually announce that title.

But there’s a problem that many fans are currently facing when it comes to this upcoming video game. They cannot tell if it will be a Remake or a Remaster. Many recent rumors are only pointing at the remake side of this discussion, though!

There’s a huge problem that people face when it comes to understanding the differences between a Remaster and a Remake. Sometimes developers and publishers make it hard to tell the difference, too. Recently, Nintendo launched a remaster of Metroid Prime for the Nintendo Switch, but it was very close to a remake with its numerous changes.

The Alan Wake Remaster was nothing but a few minor changes that did not go beyond a resolution upgrade. These are remastered, though; a remake is a game developed from the ground up using modern technologies.

The best example of a modern remake is the recently released Resident Evil 4 Remake by Capcom. A game made from the ground up, keeping modern technology and sensibilities in mind.

This is what rumors say Rockstar is doing with the upcoming Red Dead Redemption game. They are remaking it from the ground up, and they are working very hard to make sure that it makes its release sometime this year.

This game would use a modern version of the Rockstar Games’ RAGE engine. Rockstar has gradually updated this engine to feature technologies such as physically based rendering, volumetric clouds and fog values, and pre-calculated global illumination. And with the PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2, they also added support for Nvidia’s DLSS.

This proves this engine is future-proof and has all the bells and whistles a game needs to shine. It would be exciting to see how this upcoming remake turns out. Given the fact that many consider Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the best-looking games of modern times. It offered unmatched visual fidelity. Now Fans have a similar hope for this Remake.
