Fans Left Baffled as Nintendo Ends Wild Direct Rumor Mill With June 28th Announcement

Nintendo has witnessed a huge success this year already, with the likes of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Switch Sports. Although the recent release in Mario Strikers failed to impress a majority of the fans, the company seems to be in a solid position at the moment.

That’s because it’s yet to reveal the rest of the line-up for the remaining half of 2022. Moving towards its goal, the developer and publisher has finally announced the much-awaited and highly rumored Nintendo Direct Mini.

On Monday, it shared the official information for the event, set to take place on June 28. However, the fandom isn’t impressed with what the showcase is about to offer.

When there were rumors doing the rounds on the internet, many of the avid lovers of Nintendo were hoping for something huge for the Direct event. Yes, it was expected to be not in its traditional form, but still, some fans were optimistic. They expected to see first-party reveals along with some third-party announcements.

But it looks like Nintendo is about to disappoint them with Tuesday’s Direct Mini. It recently shared an update on social media about the official date of the showcase, set to take place on June 28. Going by the developer’s own description, it will be a “Partner Showcase”, solely focusing on the “Third-party Nintendo Switch games.”

It implies that the event may not turn out to be exciting for those waiting for any updates on Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, or even Zelda 2. So it was obvious to expect a mixed response on the social media, following the reveal of the Direct Mini.
