Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released in March of 2019. Given the elaborate legacy of the devs, fans weren’t too surprised by the game’s incredible gameplay. It also reaffirmed FromSoftware’s creative thrust once again with a visually stunning world and immersive boss fights. Since then, players have spent countless hours trying to perfect their stealth movements and sword-wielding skills. The game’s authenticity was further established by its winning of the Game of The Year award for 2019.

Now, a recent announcement from the devs has revealed that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has crossed the 10 million mark in unit sales. Granted, it has taken somewhat longer to reach the milestone than many other games. But nonetheless, it is a feat that the devs can be proud of.

Since the news broke, fans have come together claiming that Sekiro is a deserving candidate for the 10 million club. While all Souls-like games have a dedicated fan base, Sekiro’s unique combat system made it stand out from other titles from the studio. Many fans also believe that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a masterpiece in game design.

Unlike other FromSoftware titles, Sekiro does not have the option of character creation or multiplayer modes. Not having these features and still managing to sell 10 million units should be the definitive proof of how well-made the game is.
