Halo Infinite is the most recent installment of the most popular video game franchises of all time. But sadly, it couldn’t live up to the expectation of many fans. There are plenty of reasons behind the game’s unfavorable state. However, most fans would talk about the lack of enough intriguing in-game content.

Halo Infinite first released as open beta back in November 2021, followed by a campaign release in December 2021. While long time fans of the franchise jumped right into the battlefield on its release, most were pretty disappointed with its state. The game felt incomplete, and players had to face a long list of technical issues. Many weren’t even able to join multiplayer sessions or connect to the game.

Slowly, the hype died and the player count dropped to less than 10000 after March 2022. Although some fans still claim to like the game, the player base statistics show how the game’s state declined fast since its release. On top of the same, 343 Industries haven’t done much to address the problems, leading to fans losing hope.

A viral meme perfectly describes the Halo Infinite situation perfectly

A recent tweet featuring a hilarious meme which enacted the state of 343 Industries, Halo Infinite, and fans garnered thousands of likes. The meme seems to perfectly describe how fans and the developers behind Infinite behaving since its launch.

The hype was normal during pre-release, the kind the Halo franchise definitely deserves. But everything went downhill after the game’s launch. While 343 Industries strived to address the technical issues (bugs, glitches, connection errors) first, fans constantly tried bringing the developers’ attention to the game’s incomplete state.

At the moment, most of Halo’s glaring technical issues stand fixed. However, fans aren’t happy with the game’s state yet. It still isn’t enough to retain Halo’s fan base. Halo Infinite was reportedly in production since 2017. Even 4 years weren’t enough for 343 Industries to come up with a complete game.

Being an AAA title, Halo Infinite was definitely a costly project. Sadly, Infinite was only one of the AAA projects that succumbed to a bad production plan in 2021. The other nightmare was in the form of Battlefield 2042, which was also one of the most anticipated experiences of 2021.

Loyal fans eagerly wait for popular titles like Halo Infinite. When Infinite was released in such a pathetic state, it obviously disappointed a lot of fans. As of now, 343 Industries haven’t announced any plans to fix the game’s incomplete situation. As a fan mentioned, all they can do is wait.
