The Last of Us franchise has witnessed an enormous success in the last decade. Thanks to the release of HBO’s live-action series earlier this year, Naughty Dog’s IP has reached to a wider audience as well. One can say it’s the most globally acclaimed and highly celebrated gaming brand at the moment. And what could be a better idea than to keep pushing it forward with more content?

That’s what each hardcore fan of The Last of Us wants right now. On the gaming front, the franchise had its last release in 2020, with the sequel to the original from 2013. Since then, Neil Druckmann and his team have mostly remained tightlipped on the rumors of the next entry. Given the fact that the second part’s ending was not definite, many people are still hopeful to get the much-awaited third title. Well it seems like there are slight chances for this possibility to turn into a reality.

And the rumors are still strong over Naughty Dog secretly working on TLOU 3. It looks like now there’s a real evidence for the gaming enthusiasts to believe them as well.

Recently, Naughty Dog took to Twitter to share an elaborated message with the fans. They were quite excited for the reveal of the hyped Multiplayer title under The Last of Us series during the PlayStation Showcase. Sadly, the developer didn’t make an appearance in the event. But the team decided to explain the reason behind their absence.

Interestingly, the studio also revealed a big news while informing the fans about the delayed Multiplayer entry. Naughty Dog mentioned in their note that apart from other projects, they are also working on “a brand new single-player experience”. And that one can expect the details on it very soon.

Going by the current schedule of titles under development at the studio, there seems to be no major project except TLOU Multiplayer. They have already launched the PC port of the first game’s remake earlier this year.
