Is Xbox S actually holding back NextGen games, especially Gotham Knights?

Well, the argument might sound absurd but, according to Gotham Knight‘s player base, Xbox S is not making the game run at its full potential. This was described mostly by the fact that Series S is not meant for such heavy games, but rather Series X is.

Thus, to prove the same, Xbox developer MVG explained to SpawnWave, “Well it comes down to memory right? So the series X has 16 gigabytes of gddr6 and the series S has 10 gigabytes of gddr6. Now between those two systems, that’s a pretty big gap, right? Six gigabytes of RAM I mean. Think about the Switch [Nintendo] you got four gigabytes on a Switch, so six gigabytes taking that away from a developer is something that I think a lot of them are not going to be happy with anyway.”

This basically means that the Series S doesn’t even have the right amount of specs for games like Gotham Knight. But the fact that it is allowed to run the games on it surely shows how advanced it was when it was released.

What can be the solution?

The major issue that the console is facing is that of low FPS caps. With most games locked at 30fps, it is not favored by most gamers to run a high fps game on such a small cap. Thus they demand something more to add, and what can it be you ask? Well, a patch can be planned to allow the console to trick games into thinking that it is making the most space for them.

While another trick can be to ask video game developers to make a Series S specific gaming setting for the console to run it. Other than that, buying a new console can be considered an option, which would not be pocket friendly.
