As the world celebrates the recently released Super Mario Bros movie, loyal fans have already started to anticipate a sequel. But they are not alone. The actor behind the sensational performance of the main baddie of the movie, Bowser, is also on the hype train for the next movie, sharing his thoughts and speculations. 

Bowser is played by none other than the Hollywood icon, Jack Black. Jack is known for his unique sense of humor, bold and unapologetic charm, and acting prowess. Thanks to his phenomenal performance in the role, Bowser, has become a fan-favorite character in the movie.

Why Jack Black wants Pedro Pascal in the next Mario movie?

In a recent interview, Jack shared he wants to see The Last of Us mega star Pedro Pascal in the next Mario movie. Jack thinks in the next movie Bowser may not return as the big baddie and the story may feature another antagonist from the franchise. Jack speculates this character could be Wario. 

And if the sequel features Wario, then Jack knows exactly the actor for the role, “You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain? Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario.” said Jack Black in an interview with Gamespot.

Working in the highly successful Kung Fu Panda movie series, Jack got quite an idea about how the story may move forward in the future. The Kung Fu Panda movies had different antagonists in each installment. Challenging the protagonist’s will, emotions, and strength respectively. Jack believes Mario may also follow the same path. 

“It’s not a given that Bowser will return. You know, I did a few Kung Fu Panda movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing.” said Jack Black. While Bowser is the big bad of the series, there have been some instances where the stakes were soo big that he had to join the Mario team in order to save the day. 

So if the sequel takes that road, and we do see Bowser joining the heroes and helping fight a bigger villain like Wario or someone else, then we could be quite hopeful about the addition of a brand new star to the already star-studded cast. And the probability of it being the industry’s favorite “Zaddy” is not impossible. 

Seeing the popularity and dedication of the two actors, Pedro and Pratt. It will be interesting to see whether the two will outshine the other or star-gaze the audience
