In Call of Duty, you cannot settle down with one option when there are multiple deadly weapons to choose from. The ongoing Modern Warfare 3 Beta is a clear example as it has a nice gun collection, to say the least. Moreover, the Overkill perk is something that allows players to carry two primary weapons while jumping into a battle. However, most of the users may not be aware of the fact the latest Beta also features this perk – but in a hidden manner. Now, it’s time to unearth it from the mysterious shadows!

Last year’s Modern Warfare II did feature this popular perk as a basic addition to the Loadouts menu. But that’s not the case with Modern Warfare 3. One has to really dig a little deeper in order to find Overkill. Also, it’s not actually Overkill now – the term has changed slightly, but the function hasn’t.

Here’s how to unlock the Overkill perk in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta

The Overkill perk was originally revealed in 2007’s very first Modern Warfare, COD 4. Since then, it’s become a staple of the perk system in most of the installments released so far. However, due to Sledgehammer leading the development of Modern Warfare 3, the latest perks system is looking way different now. In 2023, there are gloves, boots, vests, and gear.

But players need not worry too much. Their favorite perks are still there, including Overkill. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta, which began last week, Overkill is actually hidden inside the Gunner Vest. It’s suitable to deploy with maximum ammunition and improved reload speed.

Also, the Gunner Vest allows you to carry two primary weapons in a match. Basically, it’s the overkill perk of Modern Warfare 3. Once the players reach Level 20 in the current Beta, they can simply unlock Overkill.

That’s pretty much everything one needs to know about one of the most popular perks. Players who have just started exploring the Beta must hurry up in order to unlock the Gunner Vest. That’s because MW3’s limited build will end soon.

What’s in store for Modern Warfare 3 fans upon launch?

Meanwhile, hardcore COD fans are looking forward to the official debut of this year’s brand-new premium from Activision. Mostly helmed by Sledgehammer’s team, it will consist of an improved Multiplayer experience. The latter will boast of numerous iconic maps from the past. To be precise, there are 16 remastered maps making a return with 2023’s installment.

Furthermore, players will also get to witness Zombies inside the Modern Warfare universe. In the open-world mode, spread across the map of Urzikstan, they will need to fight large hordes of the undead. The main objective will be to finish certain missions, loot items, and extract successfully.

Oh, and the traditional Campaign is also making a comeback, as usual. However, it will also end up receiving a new feature called open-combat missions. It will basically allow the players to take a creative approach to completing a certain quest. Simply put, they will feel like having an open-world experience inside a story that mostly follows a linear format.
