Returnal does not have a save game option as such and players had been asking the developers to bring this option to the game. Relatively speaking, Returnal is not an easy title and requires a lot of focus most of the time. Housemarque has now introduced a save mode-like option for players following the new Update 2.0.

The said feature allows you to pause your current period in order to resume the run whenever you want in the future. Apart from that, the developers are also bringing a new photo mode with the update and several life-cycle changes besides bug fixes. Here are the official release notes, as provided by Housemarque, down below.

Suspend Cycle – Pause the cycle and resume your run later!

Photo Mode – Capture the bullet-hell action or the dark beauty of Atropos; compose your shot, apply your favorite filters, and share with the world!

This update also includes numerous bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

This new makeshift save feature will surely be beneficial for players, especially those who are playing the game on a higher difficulty setting. Adding a save-like feature in Returnal also makes reruns easier, as players can start with the last location whenever they desire. What do you think about the new feature and the Returnal Update 2.0?
