The Souls-like action RPG is a lengthy game, that many fans are finding longer than usual to beat. The highest difficulty setting, Apocalypse is designed in a way so that you won’t survive no matter what you do. And folks at Gunfire Games think you shouldn’t play it either if you hate bosses being better than you. Remnant 2 is a pretty hard game as is, but this setting will let you survive merely two or three hits from bosses. Even the bulkiest builds you can manage won’t get past four/five hits.

However, Tragic, one of the team members at Gunfire, thinks the Apocalypse setting isn’t “a free pass to ignore damage.” After the release of the game, many fans reported increasing player damage reduction. The devs soon got looking and dropped a fix that made things as intended. Players were soon back getting killed like the vermins that they are.

Many online discussions saw fans claim that the bug may have been better than the fix. “It’s called Apocalypse. It’s not called ‘I get 3 orange slices and a medal for participation.'”, said Tragic. He also addressed the issue of value adjustment to the damage reduction. Tragic affirmed that there is something that’s causing DR to display inaccurate values and making players think they’re more powerful than they actually are.

“…players are seeing they are above 80% DR due to the additive display (which should be multiplicative), and thus they feel they have enough total DR.” Tragic brushed off any player commotion alleging that Remnant 2 is making things too difficult. He thinks whoever is not happy with the bug fix would instead try to get better at the game.
