Rockstar Games is an extensive company that publishes AAA titles. Subsequently, the scale of these releases sees billions of dollars in revenue. And as every year goes, they expect much more than what they have earned previously.

Consequently, fans have speculated that this forecast can indicate a new title, specifically GTA 6, which is rumored to be released in the latter half of 2024. With the sale of this decade-long-anticipated AAA title, it is thought to be responsible for the forecasted sales revenue.

Take-Two’s previous fiscal year’s revenue supports this speculation. The last fiscal year saw them earn over $5 billion. This is among the largest in the company’s history. Keeping that figure in mind, the $8 billion estimate may seem excessive initially, however, it only solidifies the potential release of GTA 6.

Generally, we like to have success before we talk about it. We’ve been working on this for a long time and we have a pretty good ability to predict the performance of new iterations of existing franchises,” Zelnick stated.

Rockstar has been conservative when it comes to forecasting revenue. It means that the $8 billion estimate is one that the developer is confident about, especially since it is much more than what independent sources predict.

GTA 6 has been keeping the fans agitated for a long time now

Fans of the franchise have constantly been on the lookout for updates surrounding the game. Rockstar Games have kept a tight lid on reports of progress following leaks that took place in September 2022. As fans of the developer may know, this is normal as Rockstar keeping things under wraps.

Fans have been waiting for a new installment in the Grand Theft Auto series for over a decade. The last installment, GTA 5, was released in 2013. The age of the game is so prominent that it has been present in three generations of consoles.

There is another side to this speculation. While it may be indicative of GTA 6 releasing next year, it does not confirm it. The sales may come from releases of other titles developed by Take-Two.

Apart from Rockstar Games, Take-Two also owns 2K. Under this, it has equally popular franchises such as the Borderlands series, the BioShock franchise, the NBA games, as well as WWE games. NBA and WWE titles are a few of many that are released every year. They equally contribute to the sales revenue.
