At Anime Expo 2023, Bandai Namco revealed new details about Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. The game will feature a brand new set of characters all connected to the world of Boruto. It will also have instances where the original protagonists, Naruto and Sasuke may make their appearances. 

A recently released trailer shed light on the game’s original story mode. In this mode, Boruto encounters Nanashi, a navigator from the popular online game Ninja Heroes. Their meeting sets off a chain of events that thrusts them into a battle engulfing the entire ninja world. The fate of the ‘Fifth Great Ninja War’ rests in Boruto’s hands as he strives to avert a looming crisis.

While the trailer introduced new characters previously unseen in the Naruto universe, its primary focus was on the rematch between Naruto and Sasuke, hinting at the imminent ‘Fifth Great Ninja War’. The reasons behind their renewed conflict remain unknown, but a glimpse of Naruto’s eyes at the start of the trailer suggests that one or both of them may have fallen under the influence of an evil force.
