Ubisoft Forward 2023: Call of Duty Killer XDefiant Gets Massive Appreciation From Fans

XDefiant finally has a release date, and fans are counting the days until its official release. Popularly known as the Call Of Duty killer, this Ubisoft game instantly reserved a place in fans’ hearts. The easy gameplay, smooth mechanics, and simple understanding are what helped XDefiant stand out. In other words, fans were fed up with Call Of Duty’s massive problems, and they found the perfect escape. It wasn’t like the community did not voice out their problems to Activision, but the game was so messed up that one thing came after another. And amidst that XDefiant dropped, making way for fans to make the transition. 

But with time, after the beta rolled out, they became worried about the official release. After all, the Call Of Duty killer had impressed them, and they didn’t want it to go down the drain. So, the devs broke the silence about a release date, some fresh updates, and more at Ubisoft Forward 2023.

Well, we still don’t have an official release date for XDefiant, but Ubisoft has found the perfect way to keep fans intact. During the Ubisoft Forward 2023, the franchise showcased some exclusive gameplay and a whole new set of promises to fans. Apparently, Ubisoft claimed for one million players to tune in for the closed beta in March/April. And so, they wanted to do something special for them until the game’s actual release.

From June 21 – 23, XDefiant will have an Open Session where the devs will focus on player feedback. It will be one of the many more rounds of testing before Ubisoft launches the official game. So, what exactly can users expect in the open session? Here’s what XDefiant’s creative director Safy Saada had to say.

“We’re committed to improving the game based on player feedback,” said Saada. “With that, the goal of this Open Session is to validate some of those key improvements we’ve made (mainly a new net code and better input lag). With the emphasis of this being ‘open’, we want to put our servers to the test and get a read on its stability at a large scale to be ready by launch.”

Last but not least, XDefiant will comprise 14 maps, five factions, 24 weapons, and more. Then, it will be a yearly update where devs will introduce more maps, weapons, factions, and more.
