Mexican boxing legend Canelo Alvarez is one of the greatest names in boxing in recent times. A great counterpuncher, the boxer has won multiple world championships in four weight classes, from light-middleweight to light heavyweight. He also became the first boxer to become an undisputed champion at super middleweight. He held the WBA (Super), WBC, and Ring magazine titles since 2020 and IBF and WBO titles since 2021.

Canelo then hit back with a combination that resulted in an early knockdown. Canelo cursed as the character rose from the mat and landed a couple of powerful strikes. He quickly returned to form and landed another series of punches to win by KO. He was very happy to win the match and celebrated the victory while the audience cheered.

On Saturday, Dmitry Bivol from Russia successfully defended his World Boxing Association light heavyweight championship with a unanimous decision win at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, giving a surprise defeat to Canelo Álvarez.

After 12 rounds, all three judges scored the fight 115-113 in Bivol’s favor, as the Mexican suffered only his second loss of his career, nine years after losing to Floyd Mayweather in November 2013.

Bivol hushed the sell-out crowd to improve to 20 victories in 20 fights, while Alvarez, largely regarded as the finest pound-for-pound fighter before the battle, falls to 57-2-2.
