Pokemon has tried many things over the years, such as open-world gameplay, and it seems like the WWE legend Ronda Rousey is enjoying Pokemon Legends: Arceus quite a lot, courtesy of her recent stream on Facebook. In the stream, she also informs people of the connection between the latest Pokemon title and Zelda’s Breath of the Wild. She goes on to compare the title with the legendary game that is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

She says, “It’s a complete reimagination of like the gameplay and it’s very open world Breath of the Wild-esque. Even a lot of the sounds and stuff is reminiscent of the Breath of the Wild.”

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released way back in 2017 as an action-adventure game set in an open-world environment. In this game, players had to explore the kingdom of Hyrule while controlling Link. One of the exciting features of the gameplay was its nonlinear nature. This means that the game was defined by a scarcity of entrances, exits, strict instructions.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus for Nintendo Switch was designed in a similar way to serve as an action RPG while preserving the core gameplay of the main-line series. The game is set within an open-world environment and the events of the narrative take place in a bygone era of the Sinnoh region. The events take place before the narratives of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
