Introduction of Ray-Tracing
F1 2021 is the first title from the series to feature Ray-Tracing. Players can take advantage of this feature properly on a PC which makes the experience much better. However, on consoles, Ray-Tracing is only available in the photo mode, and players can’t witness this technology in the gameplay. The game doesn’t use this feature a lot as well, and it is only applied on some elements like shading and reflections. Ray-Tracing reflections work similarly on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC, but the Series S console doesn’t implement it a lot.

PC also has a massive advantage in the shadows department. Other than that, the textures, draw distance and anisotropic filtering doesn’t differ a lot between these consoles.
Codemasters has done a fantastic job with the performance of F1 2021 on all platforms. It almost works flawlessly on all the unique modes on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. With Ray-Tracing turned on, players can play at around 40-5o FPS with DLSS turned off, which shows the commendable job the developers have done at optimizing the game. Along with that, the loading times aren’t that far off, however the Xbox Series X posts the fastest time.
