Andretti Dangles Mick Schumacher Possibility in Recent Praise: “Name Schumacher Is an Asset”

Symbol of speed to German people and synonymous with Ferrari, Schumacher is not just a name, but a brand. The family that gifted Formula 1 with two back-to-back drivers and seven F1 world championships, “Name Schumacher, is indeed an asset.” And this isn’t just anybody talking about the Schumacher legacy and Michael Schumacher, but the great of the game Mario Andretti himself as he believes in the young Mick Schumacher.
Massively impressed by his second-year performance at Haas, Andretti further shared on the son of Michael Schumacher while having a conversation with RTL as quoted by Sky Sports Germany, the American shared, “Name Schumacher is an asset in every respect.” Since Mick Schumacher carries the name Schumacher with him, Andretti further shared, “I think he wore it with a lot of pride, no doubt.”
The 82-year-old believed in Schumacher and his capabilities as he is sure “someone will take” the German in their team as a driver with priority in the coming years. He further stated, “Talents like that don’t go away. I think Mick improved enormously last season. No question. And that was evident in his performance.”

Apparently, the 23-year-old German is regarded very highly by the likes of Toto Wolff and Franz Tost. Tost, the Austrian executive, was very much interested in Schumacher Jr. as he recently shared his thoughts on having the German on AlphaTauri seats.
Mick Schumacher was in favor of having an AlphaTauri seat
AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost has a high regard for Mick Schumacher. The ousted Haas driver, whom Toto Wolff rescued, managed to impress the Red Bull sister team boss as he recently expressed his desire to have him on the seat.
Talking to Germany’s RTL media, Tost shared, “I would actually have liked to have Mick in the car.” He continued, “Mick is talented, and he also has what it takes to drive successfully in Formula 1.”

After being replaced by Hulkenberg in the American F1 team, Schumacher Jr. found refuge in Mercedes. Tost, talking about the Silver Arrows, shared that the young German can learn a lot from the likes of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Toto Wolff.

The AlphaTauri boss shared on this, ” [Mercedes are] very, very good team, one of the best in Formula 1, so, of course, he can learn a great deal.”
All in all, Tost believes there’s still fire in the young German, and his talent will land him a seat in the future, for sure.
