Aston Martin Boss Backs Sebastian Vettel to “Be as Quick as Ever” After Ferrari Disappointment

2020 briefly turned out to be a bit of the unknown for four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel. Dropped by Ferrari for the upcoming season, there were not a lot of options on the F1 grid.

But Aston Martin, led by their owner Lawrence Stroll, reached out to Vettel in the hope of enticing him to join their project. Months later, an official announcement arrived, and the 33-year-old will now team up with Lance Stroll to meet the team’s objectives.

Naturally, Mr. Stroll did not waste any time when he learned of the possibility of signing Vettel. Speaking in an interview, he praised and explained what the former Ferrari driver brings to the table.

The 61-year-old stated, “This team has done many things, but one thing it hasn’t done is be a world champion, and what Seb brings is that mindset, the methodology, the work ethic, and the planning around being a world champion and that is invaluable.”

Sebastian Vettel is ‘unbelievably motivated’, said Mr. Stroll

The fact that Vettel possesses an engineer’s mind and racing intellect is not a secretive fact. Over the years, he has cultivated a reputation for himself and gained experience, which he will now look to utilize with Aston Martin in his prime years.

“He is unbelievably motivated to be a part of Aston Martin returning to Formula One. You don’t become a four-time world champion and then forget how to drive.”

“There were factors on his mind last year but I don’t have one hesitation that he will be as quick as ever,” concluded Stroll.

The 33-year-old endured a terrible season at Ferrari, which saw him pick up just the solitary podium. For most times in the campaign, Vettel struggling to rise up the lower midfield positions. In addition, he also lacked the necessary pace to compete with his rivals.

But he has already started to settle in with his new team, and will soon look to gain adaptability with new equipment. The fact that they finished P4 last time around will certainly be of encouragement to Vettel.

Therefore, fans will be expectant to see how he begins the new campaign on a fresh note. After all, the combination of Vettel-Aston Martin is one that everyone is curious to witness.
