As the Finn drives into the 2021 season in the same cockpit, there was considerable ambiguity on his teammate for the next season. So, to please the fans and keep the partnership running, Alfa Romeo retained both its drivers for the 2021 season. So we will again witness the Italian and the Finnish driving alongside each other.
The former Sauber team, in their announcement, were all praises for the Italian. Although Giovinazzi’s seat got threatened by Schumacher Jr. the team decided that Giovinazzi could have another shot at the cockpit. Also Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio share a formidable bond on and off the track which could benefit the team well.
Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio voice their gratitude to Alfa Romeo
The declaration pleased both the drivers. Pleased from it, they had each voiced their gratitude. Especially Giovinazzi. The Italian has not really been performing well. However, the second chance that the team has offered him will be enough, we believe.
“Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN has been my home in Formula One for the last two seasons, and I am happy this relationship can continue for one more year. The team has put a lot of faith in me and I have done my best to repay this confidence with hard work and commitment: we have achieved some good results and I feel I have done my part to make the team progress, but the road ahead is still long and there is much more we want to achieve together. There will be a lot of continuity between this season and the next one, so everything we work on between now and the end of the year will already count for next, and we are ready to give it all we have.” commented Giovinazzi.
