Daniel Ricciardo and Cyril Abiteboul have dragged their infamous bet very far. After Daniel’s podium at the Eifel Grand Prix, the entire French camp erupted, and the Aussie had more than one reason to be happy.
Earlier in an interview with Paul di Resta, Daniel Ricciardo took up the topic about the tattoo and how excited he was about it. The bet was gossip for the entire grid and even Twitter went nuts over this entire bet.
However, where will Abiteboul get the tattoo? Well, here is our man from Perth clearing any and all doubts about the inking.
“I kind of gave him like two designs,’ See what you can do with this and then we will probably choose which one.’ But Cyril’s definitely down for it. He is not bailing out.
“I was trying to encourage him to get him up here [on the outer forearm] old school style. But I think he is going to go somewhere, maybe down on the ankle.
“But he is going to do it, and that’s the main thing. I’ll make sure he gets it somewhere exposed,” remarked the Renault driver.
The Team Principal is having the time of his life. After having a super season with Daniel, he got promoted to being the chief of the rebranded Renault team, Alpine F1 for 2021.
He is also excited about the return of Fernando Alonso and is ready to lead the team to glory.
After the win at the Eifel Grand Prix, the Renault team went bonkers. The rush was so high that Daniel forgot to do the ‘shoey’ up on the podium, his signature celebration.
“It’s been a long time for me, so it felt like the first time all over again. That was awesome. I think as well for the team it’s been so long that it was not like just another podium for them. It was huge.
“Everyone had this energy and there was this atmosphere, which was really something to be treasured. I didn’t honestly sleep much Sunday night. I was still pumped with adrenaline rerunning the race in my mind, so it was cool,” recalled the Aussie.
Daniel Ricciardo is going to make his way to McLaren next season. However, all he cares about now is to make it big with Renault and bag as many points as possible.
He believes that P3 in the Constructor’s Championship is anyone’s gamble and the team that drives better will get what they deserve.
