In the 2020 Formula 3 season, David Schumacher has not been in the best of forms. After lying 23rd in the Championship with no points and 6 races left, frustration has gotten to him. As a result, the German driver has elected to part ways with the Charouz team.

Schumacher made his F3 debut in 2019 during the season finale at Sochi. Since then, the Charouz Racing team recruited him to race full time for their team, alongside Igor Fraga and Roman Stanek.

Suffice to say, David is just as talented as his cousin, Mick Schumacher. His fourth-place finish at the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship is testament to the same.

David Schumacher did not have the dream first season

As it turned out, Schumacher struggled for pace and competitiveness. In fact, his highest finish was 12th at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, so he has yet to score a point.

However, he isn’t alone. This season saw Stanek and Fraga struggling for pace as well. Fraga is the only point-scorer of the trio, scoring one point courtesy of a 10th place finish at Silverstone.

Now it seems like David Schumacher has had enough and is walking away for good. In light of this, Ralf Schumacher wrote on Instagram, “Big thanks to Charouz Racing Team for supporting my son. We have decided to stop our partnership.”

So far, nobody knows what is next for the 18-year-old as far as his budding racing career is concerned. However, Ralf Schumacher appears confident and is “looking forward to announcing some news soon.” He will be hoping to use this free time to regroup and pick a top team next year.
