Australian driver Oscar Piastri claimed the FIA F2 championship in his debut season after finishing 3rd in the Abu Dhabi sprint race 1. Notably, he was F3 champion last year and Renault Eurocup champion the year before. As a result, he has joined the elite club of first-season champions. The list includes F1 stars like Charles Leclerc and George Russell.
The Prema driver had a stellar season so far, grabbing 213.5 points and five pole positions in a row, equalling the record previously held by Ferrari star Charles Leclerc. Twitter reactions came pouring in after the Aussie claimed the F2 title. However, the fact that he did not get a seat in F1 for the upcoming season is still the biggest talking point among the fans.

Oscar Piastri is the 2021 F2 champion
Former racing driver and F1 commentator Martin Brundle believes that Piastri will make his appearance at the top level pretty soon. “Pretty clear that Oscar will be a full-time F1 driver sooner than later, to add to the great young talent we already have going forward,” said Brundle while replying to a tweet by the F1’s official Twitter handle.

Disappointment over Piastri’s absence in F1
Piastri does not have a seat in F1 for next season. Chinese driver Guanyu Zhao was offered the last vacant seat this season at the Alfa Romeo team. Let’s look at some of the tweets which showed disappointment over Piastri’s absence from F1.
another day another me asking how's oscar piastri not in f1

Oscar Piastri has been a class ahead of the rest in F2 this year.
The reward for being champion? Having no race seat for next year…
Make it make sense.
— Matt Gallagher (@MattyWTF1) December 11, 2021
oscar piastri is doing the same thing what charles leclerc and george russell were doing, even better bc neither of them won 3 championhips in a row, charles is in a ferrari, george is going to mercedes, and piastri is becoming reserve driver… biggest robbery of the century.

Again, since I've been as involved in #F2 as I have been as of 2020, I don't think I've seen a more F1-ready driver than Oscar Piastri.

The Aussie is also dejected about not being offered a seat at the top. “Hopefully I can be champion of sitting on the couch next year because that’s all I’ll be doing,” said Piastri after clinching the title as reported by Fox Sports.
