Every race weekend, there is only one favorite, Max Verstappen. Heading into the British GP weekend as well there is one clear favorite. However, there are F1 entities who will like to see this scenario change, a change in terms of especially the race winner. A race winner that will break the trend and make a fairytale story come true. A fairytale that has been in the making since the start of the season and is keeping the fans on the edge. A fairytale that has been a decade in the making and most would like to see to life with Fernando Alonso taking his 33rd win of his career.

Despite their advanced years, only Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have been pipped to become a menace for Verstappen. For now, they have been the closest but Alonso has a faster car thanks to the incredible progress made by Aston Martin. So discussing the upcoming British GP, both David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan picked Verstappen to be the favorite. However, Jordan does picture a dream scenario where Alonso wins the race at Silverstone.

Coulthard said, “Silverstone is a track, a bit like Barcelona, it delivers on efficiency and performance. So it’s very difficult to imagine anyone really challenging Red Bull this weekend.”

To this Eddie Jordan said, “100%. Their track record, so to speak, pardon the pun, is immense, Max is immense. I think it would be amazing if, what Max previously said if he couldn’t win that it will be Alonso. Can you imagine Alonso winning with the new Aston Martins? It will be an amazing story and I’d like to see that.”

However, even if this scenario comes true at Silverstone, a usually ruthless and unforgiving Max Verstappen wouldn’t mind. Why? Because of his admission in the past.
