Gallery: Lewis Hamilton Joins DJ Khaled, will.i.am and More in Star-Studded Mercedes F1 Event

What do Lewis Hamilton, Jamie Foxx, Ludacris, DJ Khaled, and will.i.am have in common? They were all at the Mercedes Benz USA launch event in Miami, ahead of the Grand Prix. The face of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team Lewis Hamilton also graced the event and met with the celebrity artists present at the launch.

The city of Miami is definitely keeping all the drivers busy with back-to-back events ever since the inaugural party at the circuit.

However, the central focus of this launch was Artist will.i.am. He, in collaboration with Mercedes, launched a car nicknamed “The Flip”. Originally called, the Will.I.AMG, is a 4-door innovative vehicle made for a purpose.

The proceeds from the car will go into benefitting educational programs in disadvantaged communities in America. A noble endeavor from will.i.am and Mercedes’ end. And as we all know, Sir Hamilton is always out there promoting a good cause.

In addition, a host of celebrities attended the event to make its presence and cause known to the mass majority. DJ Khaled, Jamie Foxx, and Ludacris, to name a few. This will probably be the theme of the entire weekend. Keeping in mind the popularity of Formula 1 and the fact we’re in the United States, multiple artists, movie stars, and sports personalities are expected to appear at the Miami Grand Prix.

Furthermore, the inaugural Miami Grand Prix is sold out. Over the course of three days, a total of 240,000 spectators will step foot at the Miami Grand Prix circuit. Incredible numbers for a Grand Prix in its first edition. And this is only the beginning as the capacity will increase over the coming years.

As reported earlier, Lewis and Mercedes will experiment with the W13 at the Miami Grand Prix. This Grand Prix will work as a learning curve for the driver and the team likewise.

But only the future races will tell us if this gamble will pay off. Lewis is already lagging in the driver’s championship points table and he and the team cannot afford to lose points any longer.
