Haas’ F1 Driver Romain Grosjean Reported to Have Missed His Flight to Istanbul

Romain Grosjean is without a contract for the 2021 season. The Frenchman alongside Kevin Magnussen was let go from Haas for the 2021 season. Currently, Grosjean’s prospects of a Formula 1 seat next season seem very bleak.

Grosjean is racing his final few races with Haas this season. However, the Haas driver appears to have missed his flight to the Turkish Grand Prix.

The drivers have been flying out to Istanbul for the weekend a couple of days ahead of Thursday. However, before Nico Hulkenberg gets his hopes up, it must be pointed out that Grosjean has a backup plan and is already on his way.

One can only imagine Guenther’s texts if he fails to make it.

Romain Grosjean unsure of his Formula 1 future

Grosjean explained that things do not look good for him to continue Formula 1 racing. He said, “There are even fewer seats available in Formula 1 so that looks even more tricky, but I’ve made peace with myself and I’m looking at other projects where I can go and win races.”

Grosjean has hinted that his Formula 1 future could be over. According to the reports, “He has revealed he is looking to continue racing in either sportscars or potentially the IndyCar series in North America.”

The French driver mentioned that Formula E is also an option along with Le Mans. “I know I said I wasn’t really interested in the US, but there are fewer ovals than I thought and ovals are something I’m a bit scared of.

“But I’m also quite tempted by it, so we’ll see,” he added.

Grosjean was also reported stating that he has not been sleeping very well. He further explained, “It’s a tough year for the world, for the economy, it’s not a good year to be out of contract and out of the sport that you were in.”

Grosjean has managed only one points finish this season. He finished at P9 at the Eifel Grand Prix that allotted him his only 2 points this season.

Grosjean has some fond memories of the Turkish Grand Prix, considering how he won at the circuit back in his Formula 2 days. He will certainly be looking forward to the race and hopefully adding to his abysmal points tally.
