“Things Can Always Change”- Sebastian Vettel Reveals Interest in Racing Point Amid Aston Martin Rumors for 2021

Earlier this year, Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel parted ways for good. Since then, the German driver has been on the hunt for another seat in Formula One.
Now, the 4-time world champion has revealed that he is eyeing other options on the table.
While in conversation with the media in a press conference, he opened up about “loose talks” with Racing Point regarding a potential seat. However, he refuted suggestions that he is under pressure to make a quick decision.

Many suggested that Racing Point is a likely destination for Vettel, especially when it becomes Aston Martin in 2021. In addition to that, there is a high possibility that he could partner Lance Stroll, leaving Sergio Perez high and dry.
According to Bild magazine, the Mexican has an exit clause in his long-term contract.
However, Sebastian Vettel has played coy on the links to Aston Martin when asked about it in Hungary. He insisted that nothing has been signed yet, though discussions are currently ongoing.

He admitted, “Well, at this stage, I think it’s talks. I said last week that obviously I’ve been in talks with Renault for example, so I think it’s also just talks.”

“I think at a later stage with anyone, I think then it would get a bit more concrete. But at this stage, the truth is that there is nothing to announce and nothing more concrete than just loose talks.”
When can we learn more about Sebastian Vettel and his future?
There were talks of Racing Point facing a July deadline to confirm their 2021 driver line-up. Obviously, this adds an element of pressure on the team to come to decision, However, Vettel has no such urgency.

Speaking to Motorsport.com about Aston Martin being his only trump card, he had some interesting insights. He insisted that he does not have too much information on the contract situation.
