The rain did not tease the crowd at Nurburgring this time; it flooded them. Friday is here and the clouds just won’t stop pouring. An impenetrable layer of mist accumulated over the entire circuit, making it difficult for the safety helicopter to fly, effectively stalling the Free Practice 1 at the Eifel Grand Prix.

The F1 drivers will not have much concerning them; however, the F2 drivers Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott will kick themselves. The practice at Nürburgring was very important for both the F2 leaders.

For Mick, it was an opportunity to get a feel of how intense and competitive F1 races are. For Ilott, it was a potential chance to prove to Guenther Steiner that he is worthy of being in the Haas cockpit.

Schumacher Jr.’s presence had already lifted the ambiance at the Eifel Grand Prix. The stands sported a colorful crowd eagerly awaiting the return of a Schumacher behind the wheel of an F1 car.

However, as the old saying goes, man proposes, God disposes, the rain stalled the practice and probably canceled FP1 at Nurburgring.

The Eifel Grand Prix would have marked his debut outing in an F1 car; hopefully, the first of many. Honestly, the racer has been phenomenal in the F2 championship.

What’s more, the young German was able to translate the success he enjoyed in the F2 championship behind the wheel of an F2008 in preparation for his outing at the Nurburgring. However, it seems like it was all in vain.
