Finally, after 7 months of boredom for F1 fans, the period of inactivity has come to an end. The season opener will take place in Austria on the 5th of July. Teams and drivers will definitely be itching to get back racing after the long break. However, the break wasn’t all too bleak for the drivers. They found something or the other to keep themselves busy during the lockdown. Some spent it playing games on the simulators, while others like Kimi Raikkonen spent it with their families.
Kimi likes the thrill of racing, whether it be in an F1 car or in a rental kart, he doesn’t mind. The ‘Iceman’ spent his time racing with his son Robin, who seems to have inherited his dad’s racing genes. In fact, he’s so quick that he may have already made his dad consider retirement.

However, Kimi isn’t pushing his son into competitive racing, instead he only wants his son to enjoy whatever he does. speaking to Motorsport.com, he said, “Some days we’ll do more laps than others, but it’s like that with kids, one day they like to do one thing and the next day another. As long as he enjoys it, that’s the main thing”
Regarding his loss in the karting race, Kimi said, “he’s (Robin) been getting faster. With me in a rental kart, I cannot keep up any more. I need a bit more horsepower. Apart from that, it’s been good”
Talking about the resumption of the F1 season and Alfa Romeo‘s chances, Kimi said, “It’s impossible to say where we are at, a lot of speculation. But in the first race, we always see what’s the real story. We’ll see over the weekend where we are and where everybody else is.”
