Lewis Hamilton Sticks Up for ‘F**king Rad’ F1 Fans Having to Endure Grave Injustice at Spa

One of the most bizarre races in Formula One history, as the race was completed under the safety car. For the fans at Spa, they had to endure a disappointing race, but Lewis Hamilton thinks they should be getting a refund.

Many of the spectators were hoping for an exciting race, with rain coming down they were in for a treat. However, the showers at Spa didn’t show any sign of stopping and had to be called off. So it is no surprise they must be thinking of a refund, and Hamilton is on the same page as them.

Rain makes a Formula One race even more exciting, but if there is too much rain, it can be called off. That was exactly the case in Belgium when fans waited for nearly three hours only for it to be canceled. The 7-times world champion can understand their pain and thinks they should get their money back.

Speaking after the Belgian Grand Prix, he said, “I really hope the fans get their money back today”

He took to Instagram as well, and wrote: “You fans out there, all of you are f**** rad for sticking with us today.”

However, it isn’t just the fans who aren’t happy but Lewis too. The Mercedes driver was hoping to win today, and extend his lead in the championship. Instead, that win went to his arch-rival, Max Verstappen who closes the gap in the title race.

Hamilton would have hoped for the race to carry on

The 36-year-old was starting third on the grid, while Max was on pole. The race was red-flagged due to the horrid conditions, but Hamilton was still optimistic about the race resuming.

Much to his nightmare, the race was called off, and half points were given. This meant that Hamilton’s eight-point gap to the Red Bull prodigy had fallen down to three.

With the next race just in a week’s time, and this time at Zandvoort – Verstappen’s home race. Hamilton would be hoping to grab and win and increase his lead in the title race.
